Marett Cole
08/14/04
13 months old at diagnosis
Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center

Marett was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, a relatively rare form of childhood cancer, in September 2005 when she was 13 months. She received 6 months of chemotherap y and went into remission around March 2006. Ever since then she has been followed closely by pediatric oncologists in Greenville, and by Neuroblastoma specialists at Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, NY. At August 2007 check-up, a mass was detected in her abdomen that was later determined to be Neuroblastoma. She was treated at Sloan-Kettering for 4 straight months. Then we travelled to NYC every 4 to 8 weeks for continued antibody therapy. At this point, she is NED (no evidence of disease) since Feb. 08, and we go to New York every 12 weeks for a full work-up of scans to be sure she is still in remission.
